Over time my approach has become more simple; pared back. I could say lots about all the things I’ve pared back!

Clients tell me they appreciate my capacity to generate new questions with them. I think I create conditions where people can find the questions that matter to them and give them the space and encouragement to explore them.

The value is in linking their existing perceptions and experience to a renewed understanding of themselves, of those they lead and the issues they are facing. This awareness is a source and enabler of change.

Examples of coaching/supervisor work

Transitioning from a corporate role to build a coaching/consultancy practice.

A corporate client I’d worked with over a number of years reached out having decided to leave corporate life and set up their own HR Consulting and Executive Coaching business in the middle of lockdown.

It became clear to us both this was a significant life decision for them and perhaps not fully appreciated initially just how emotional and challenging the transition would be. We focused at first on supporting the thinking and activity around the positioning and marketing of the business and later began to explore the themes emerging from the actual coaching work they were starting to attract. At a review point I asked them to share what the impact had been of our work together:

When you work with Ant and you experience his coaching style, a phrase that pops up repeatedly is his ability to ‘hold the space’. Ant creates such a safe, caring, kind and engaging space for you to truly be yourself, balanced with insight, different perspectives, and lenses through which to look at your issue/challenge/opportunity, which has enabled me to be a more rounded human being, HR consultant and Executive Coach.

I have grown immensely over the past two years. I have gained real clarity on my direction of travel personally and professionally, I have given myself permission to be vulnerable, not something I have always been comfortable with. I have re-found my sense of self and resurfaced my natural bravery and can say happily that almost 16 months into running my own business, and running the gauntlet of emotions, it is going from strength to strength. Without this support, I would still be pondering my purpose in life and trying to find my identity post corporate life."

Qualifications and Experience

I hold a BA (hons) in Fine Art and Drama, an MA in Psychological Coaching (Metanoia Institute) and qualified as a coach supervisor with the Coaching Supervision Academy. I am also a CEDR qualified mediator (MST) and an APECS Accredited Master Executive Coach.

I have over 30 years experience working with business leaders and their senior teams in the UK, Europe, Asia and the US, across a range of sectors including tech, retail, horeca, banking and legal.

The lion’s share of my practice is in coaching, the rest being a mix of coaching supervision, facilitation and mediation.
