“There is a difference between doing something as well as you can and doing something as well as it can be done. World class performance is about bridging that gap.” - Dr. Jenny Denyer
I am a former world-class sportswoman (England Squash), with a Ph.D in Performance Psychology (Loughborough University) and over 15 years of organisational consulting, coaching and supervisory experience across sectors (working through Lane4 Management Group and Cranfield School of Management). I bring a passion for performance excellence to my coaching and really value high quality relationships with my clients.
Having operated at the cutting edge of sport, I have experienced first hand ‘no compromise cultures’, and the fine line between ‘challenging and oppressive’. Of course high performance environments promote high standards and a relentless work ethic, but importantly they must also engender a culture of care, compassion, reflection, learning and growth if they are to be ‘healthy high performance environments’.
As a result, the work I do with executive level leaders and their teams requires me to be ethically aware, earn trust and respect with all stakeholders, jointly explore the executive agenda (the ‘what’) and understand together what is required from them as leader(s) (in terms of the ‘how’) in order to deliver the desired organisational impact.
Recently, I have coached a number of high profile C-Suite individuals in various sectors who face highly complex challenges, often under immense professional pressure. My approach is to be ‘onside and alongside’ them whilst maintaining the courage and skill to challenge and support them when they most need it.
Conference presentations
I present my ideas on a range of thought provoking coaching topics; ‘Coaching Agility’ EMCC UK (2008, 2010) and the Association for Coaching conference (2010); ‘Coaching at the Performance Edge; Embracing paradox’ EMCC (2017); ‘Medals over Morals; winning at what cost?’ EMCC (2018).
I am a member of the Global Supervisors network (GSN). I am also part of a community of practice that focuses on ‘Vertical Development’.
Client Testimonial
“We worked together on a complicated, high profile and high pressure project this year. Jenny rolled up her sleeves and got stuck right in and stayed with it to the end. Jenny is really committed, determined to get the best possible result for the client, good fun and lovely to work with. We had a lot of fun and I would highly recommend her.”
