About my practice
I work with developing and established leaders in a wide range of professional settings including legal practices, insurance, investment management, engineering, natural resources, pharmaceuticals and property. I also coach teams, ranging from senior executive teams to multi-cultural teams on complex engineering and construction projects, and I develop and deliver leadership programmes.
I’ve worked as coach and consultant to a wide range of companies in the UK, the US and Australia since 1993. I draw on my rich experience of performing at the very highest levels of sport. As an athlete I represented Australia at four World Canoeing Championships through the 1980’s and since then I have worked as a sport psychologist to help athletes and coaches prepare for the last seven Olympic Games including Rio 2016.

Particular preferences and coaching strengths
I’m often called to assist in the succession planning process to enable leaders to make key transitions, such as the move from CFO to CEO. This involves helping a leader take a broader view of their role, letting go of a functional speciality and embracing the whole business in its wider context. Often this also means helping leaders to improve their self-awareness and to balance humility with confidence. I work best with senior leaders who are open to learning and who are in challenging roles.
My approach to coaching draws on a sophisticated understanding of people and business, which helps my clients to perform at their best in a complex world. This means that a coaching conversation can be highly pragmatic, helping a leader to think straight and identify tangible actions, yet also work at depth to address relationships and emotion.
