Kay Young
I am an experienced Professional Supervisor. I most appreciate working with supervision clients who are interested in working with relational, emotional and psychological depth – in service of themselves, their clients, their work together; and to support and enable change within the wider systems.

Supervision Approach:
My approach is relational and developmental. I bring depth of presence, build trust and relationship, honour silence, listen deeply, speak my own truth, and invite my clients to do likewise. I support my clients to identify what is true for them (through deepening awareness); to expand their range of choices (through creative experimentation); develop inner resources, and explore ways forward; to deepen the impact and effectiveness of their coaching practice.
Gestalt is the theoretical framework underpinning my life and practice. Gestalt offers a unique and sophisticated lens into people / practice development, and life itself; through paying exquisite attention to ‘what is’ through: phenomenological inquiry; deepening awareness; creative experimentation; dialogic relationship; and field / systems theory. In my supervision work this supports the process of awareness-acceptance (or resistance)-choice-support-change.
I have a particular interest in the relational phenomenology of shame within the learning / coaching / supervision relationship; and how support (self/relational/environmental) is such a deep enabler of change.
Supervision Experience:
I have been supervising professionally since 2013 / 600+ hours of practice. My supervision clients range from newly qualified / accredited coaches; to experienced coaches on advanced coach training; to highly experienced, accredited coaches.
I supervise individuals and groups; working virtually and in-person. I have a particular interest in working outdoors, with silence, and with nature-as-a-coaching-supervision-partner.
My coaching supervision capacity has emerged from a solid foundation of:
Extensive experience in leadership & management (20+ years); including working as an NHS Board Director
My practice as an Executive Coach (2000+ hours)
My practice as a Gestalt psychotherapist (850+ hours)
