Ian White - Governance
Ian White - Governance
My approach to my coaching and supervision practice
Ian is taking on the governance role on the APECS board. He trained as a coach with Coaching Development and as a team coach with Meyler Campbell. His main work is as a consultant and coach specialising in Board Effectiveness Reviews with clients ranging from FTSE100 companies to not for profits. He is also a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) Accredited Mediator and the Course Director of the Cranfield Non-Executive Director Programme. Earlier on in his career he had 20 years’ experience in Executive roles (principally General Counsel/Company Secretary).
He is inspired by the great outdoors and this year walked the Devon Coast to Coast with plans to do more of the Camino next year.
What APECS means to me
I came across APECS through my then supervisor who recommended it as a coaching body that I might benefit by joining. I wanted to join a coaching organisation which was focused on people, values and relationships rather than one with thousands of members. I found the accreditation process rigorous but I think that is a good thing and it certainly made me think and reflect.
Examples of coaching/supervisor work
I work principally with coaching directors – particularly Non-Executive Directors and CEOs – as well as professionals mainly General Counsel/Company Secretaries.
